Skyward Sword Hero Mode

  1. Damage dealt to Link is doubled.
  2. Enemies will not drop hearts upon defeat, nor will you be able to find them in plants or pots, forcing you to rely on potions to heal.
  3. Fairies can still be found and used.
  4. Bugs and treasures carry over from the previously saved file.
  5. Charge time for the Skyward Strike is instantaneous.

It’s Christmas Break, which means…

It’s time to go through another Zelda game.  Since I still can’t work up the gumption to finish the original LoZ, I think I am going to do a 100% run of Skyward Sword in Hero Mode.

We’ll see how this goes…  more than likely, I will end up having to give up not very far into it.

Alright, for my next Zelda outing, I am thinking either finishing up the original LoZ, where I left off during the 5th dungeon, or trying my hand at Ocarina of Time’s Master Quest, which I’ve never played before.

Any thoughts?

I beat Spirit Tracks!
Holy crap, that was one of the most cinematic ending sequences of a Zelda game ever.  The boss fights were incredible.  The demon train was pretty cool, and the fight with Phantom Zelda protecting you from the laser was one of the most unique boss fights ever.  Then distracting Malladus and getting Zelda to hit him from her POV on the top screen was brilliant.  The whole ending was awesome, from riding into the epically ominous looking Dark Realm, to watching Anjean, Byrne, and the rest of the Lokomo (they have legs!) ascend to spirits and float away.  I went into this game with mildly high hopes and they were blown away by the amazing puzzles, cool bosses, and great charming Zelda feel.
My main, and really, the only huge complaint I had was the train travel.  It was good in theory, fun in the beginning, but quickly grew frustrating.  It took too long to get from place to place, and I didn’t really like how every sidequest was just transport person/item A to place B.  Literally every single one, at least the ones I found.  And there wasn’t a ton of incentive to do these extremely repetitive quests.  You unlock more tracks, but most of the time the tracks don’t lead you anywhere really intriguing.
Overall the game was amazing though.
